Category: Easy Green Friends

If you're a self-proclaimed plant killer, the Snake Plant says, “Try me.” With tall, sculptural leaves and serious survival skills, it thrives on neglect—and looks good doing it. Also known as Mother-in-Law’s Tongue, it’s one of the best houseplants for beginners, busy bees, and low-light spaces.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Nearly impossible to kill

  • Thrives in low light or bright, indirect light

  • Purifies the air (even while you sleep)

  • Has serious main character energy on a shelf or floor

Care Tips

Light: Low light? No problem. Bright light? Even better. Just avoid direct sun.
Water: Every 2–3 weeks. Let the soil dry out completely. Overwatering is the only real danger.
Humidity: Totally unbothered. Normal room humidity is fine.
Soil: Go for a gritty, fast-draining mix like our Signature Grow Mix to prevent soggy roots.

Propagation Magic

Snip a healthy leaf and place it in water or soil. It takes a little patience, but with Root Boost in the mix, you’ll speed things up and encourage healthy root growth.

Root Tip

Snake Plants hate wet feet. Always use a pot with drainage holes, and water less if your space runs cool or dark.
