What’s the difference between Clippings, Rootlings, Babies, and Plants?

Clippings

Come with at least 1 healthy leaf and 1 node, ready to root however you choose—whether in water, moss, or soil.

Rootlings

Come with at least 1 healthy leaf and a minimum of 1” established roots, started in either water or a sphagnum moss/perlite mix, ensuring a strong start for continued growth.

Babies

Arrive in a 2.5” pot with our house blend soil, featuring at least 2–3 healthy leaves and a minimum root length of 2”.

Plants

Come in a 4” pot with mature leaves and a well-established root system, ready to thrive in their new home.

Disclaimer: Plants are living things, and growth outcomes may vary based on care and environmental conditions. Each product is carefully hand-selected to ensure quality and readiness for its next stage of growth.

Returns & Refunds

Can I return a plant clipping if it doesn’t grow?

Unfortunately, live plant clippings are non-returnable. But don’t worry—reach out to us, and we’ll troubleshoot together!

What if my order arrives damaged?

While this rare happens, we don't have nay control over what happens during shipping. Please email us a photo of the damage within 7 days, and we’ll make it right.

Love a plant that drapes like a dream? Meet the string squad: String of Pearls, String of Hearts, String of Turtles, and String of Dolphins. These trailing beauties are cute, quirky, and surprisingly chill once you get to know them.

Whether you're after texture, color, or novelty-shaped leaves (looking at you, dolphins), these strings bring a whole vibe to shelves, window ledges, and hanging pots.

Meet the Strings

🌿 String of Pearls – Bright green, bead-like leaves that store water like tiny canteens
💗 String of Hearts – Long, thin vines with silver-splashed heart-shaped leaves
🐢 String of Turtles – Miniature round leaves with intricate turtle shell patterns
🐬 String of Dolphins – Curved leaves that actually look like little leaping dolphins—yes, really

Light

☀️ These plants love bright, indirect light
💡 Near a sunny window or under a grow light is perfect
⚠️ Avoid intense direct sun—it can burn or fade delicate leaves

Water

💧 Let the soil fully dry between waterings
💦 Prefer bottom watering—especially for Strings of Pearls and Dolphins, which are prone to rot
🪴 Use Clear Nursery Pots with lots of drainage holes
🌱 Plant in Signature Grow Mix with extra perlite or sand for aeration

Humidity & Environment

💨 Average indoor humidity is totally fine
🌡️ Warm, dry rooms = string plant heaven
🚫 No misting needed (they store water in their leaves!)

Propagation

✂️ Snip 3–5 inch cuttings with at least one node
💦 Root in water, moss, or straight into moist soil
🌿 Add Root Boost to help your cuttings establish stronger, faster roots

Root Tip

If your plant gets bald on top or looks scraggly, trim a few strands and replant them directly into the pot for a fuller look—this works great with all four types!
